I am a newer player and one example that I can think of is that I created this Minmatar character before I understood anything about the game . I found out many months later that Minmatar ships are good for PvP but not so good at PvE and that further more they are not noob friendly . I am a PvE player and would like to Try a heavy assault ship or a command ship for missions but would hate to invest the long training involved in skilling up not only the spaceship command skills but all the support skills for say a Nighthawk just to find out that I don't like the missile boat style of fighting . To take that to further extremes what about Carriers or Black Ops ships with just crazy long skill plans to get into one of those it would be nice to try stuff out before committing to a 2 year skill plan .
I very much agree with this, because I'd like to test out just how much I can get out of certain ships without having to train for so long to get them. Right at this moment on SiSi I'm training Minmatar Frigates to 5, so as to see how the Wolf flies. But wait. What's this? I still have the turrets and such to train as well. This seems like it'd be at least half a month of training. But chances are the mirror will come sooner than that.
Then, using this information, I would of course alter my training plan on TQ in order to reach the desired ship.
Testing is not trying out. Big whoop about having to train, I built a leviathan last patch and capital ships 5 finished two days after the mirror. Patches are patches, train your ****ing skills.
EDIT 1/1: Also, half a month = two weeks. This is eve, two weeks is far from a long time. __________________________________________________

TBH all level 5 was a bad idea anyway. Will the supercapitals still be doled out? I would have built a leviathan already if I knew about the rescheduling. __________________________________________________

What, are you trolling? What's the point of testing supercapitals if only a tiny fraction of players (in general) and an even smaller fraction of players on the test server can fly them?
The point is to test the new supercapitals, not feed your ego by being one of the few flying one.
Would have fed my ego on monday anyway. My point is that someone who isn't close or thinks its BS to have to train for it doesn't have the mindset to accurately gauge performance as a titan pilot. Just my 2ó.
Ninja Edit: My "fed my ego on monday" I mean that I would have been of the same few that could have actually flown them after all lvl 5 ended (if someone was in space with their titan they couldnt really do anything anyway). __________________________________________________

Oh, I'm sorry, how stupid of me not to assume that CCP is testing the TACTICS instead of the ships themselves.
In case you're as moronic as you seem, that was sarcasm. That means I was lying. You're an idiot.
Right... No, I said performance you idiot. Everything and Anything about a titan and how it would be used on the live server, tactics included. Someone who doesn't have the mindset of sitting behind POS shields and not being able to really use your toon at all save for portals will want it to become something its not: a cost-effective killing machine.
